You face the dilemma of whether to adopt a puppy or an adult. Each of them has their share of benefits and disadvantages. Yet, seeing a puppy with hard-core cuteness will really melt your heart. And taking care of them is fun though sometimes quite tough since they need your commitment, dedication, energy and time. Yet they will get attached to your strongly. Adult ones are also fun to have. They have been trained so you need not get into the basic and they can adjust themselves faster to become your loyal companies. Before making a decision, ask yourself these questions:
1. Do you have the time to dedicate to raising and training a puppy?
You all know that raising puppies is like raising your babies. You have to be delicate and devote your quality time to take care of their fragile nature at such early age. If you are a type of busy people who go out a lot, the puppy will not do. But if you work at home, then you can try to have puppy instead.
- Is your lifestyle conducive to raising a dog?
See if you a person who stay at home most of the time the raising puppies are fine, but if you like to travel and go out a lot, trained adult dogs are recommended.
- Is it important that you raise the dog yourself?
It really depends on what you want from your dog. Raising them is like building their personality, behavior, habit and etc. if you mind having a dog with certain qualities which are against yours established by the previous owners, you are likely to have puppies.
- Do you have children?
You will not want to share your time raising puppy while having your own baby to take care of. But when the children are still small and curious kids, they will harm the puppies while can be in danger of adult dogs with no experiences living with kids around. Older ones will be good for both.
- Is cost an issue?
They both have their own costs, but puppies are way more expensive, though. But if you like to save cost, adopting can be your good option.
