Bengal Cat History
This cat, though the descendant of the wild Asian leopard cat, is actually a thorough cat in and out. The appearance of it also resembles their ancestors a lot and so their personality and characters. The name itself was actually taken from their very ancestor, scientific name which is Felis Bengalensis. In fact, this cat is a result of a cross between an Asian leopard cat and domestic Shorthairs. It was firstly done by a breeder in California called jean mill who allowed his lonely leopard cat to keep a black tom cat as company without any thought of them to mate with each other. After trials of crossing breeds, she found an orange Indian cat and a brown spotted tabby that makes today’s domestic Bengal cats.

This breed is very active and also very smart also. To live with them can be fun yet challenging. This cat is also very talkative. Their air is confident yet alert all the time. Bengal Cat Care and Grooming
This cat is quite easy to care. What you need to do is a weekly combing and a bath can be skipped most of the time since they love water themselves. Their teeth should be cleaned well at least once a week and so their nails which should be trimmed. The corners of their eyes should be wiped clean as well and the cloth used should be separated to prevent infection. While grooming, check their ears. If they are dirty, clean them using a cotton ball or soft damp cloth moistened with a 50-50 mixture of cider vinegar and warm water. Always keep their litter box clean as they are very strict about the hygiene of their bathroom. This cat should be kept indoors since the world out there can be very dangerous for them or either this cat is dangerous for the surroundings of your home for they are known as great hunters.
Bengal Cat Coat and Colors
The athletic cats got a beautiful pair of oval eyes. You will also find some spots on their belly when they roll. The cat has a very silky and soft coat which is quite short but very thick. You may find them in coat colors and patterns such as brown tabby, seal mink tabby, black silver tabby, and seal silver lynx point either with randomly or in horizontal patterns. Moreover, some of them can be marbled, with horizontal stripes. In addition, the Bengals have what so called as glittering coats because literally they shimmer when a light falls on them.
